Few days after Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui together with his Deputy Dr Erick Korir took oath of office, the wife to the Deputy Governor has embarked on advocating for the farmers plight.
Mrs. Beatrice Korir on Thursday assured hundreds of Kuresoi South Sub-County Potato farmers who have always complained of oppressive prices that the Lee administration is committed to end their problems.
“You have been suffering from poor market for your farm produce but servant leaders who feel your headache have taken over the county government leadership and will solve your problems,” assured Mrs. Korir.
While speaking at Keringet Food Limited offices, Mrs. Beatrice Korir said both Governor Lee Kinyanjui and Dr Erick Korir in their inaugural speeches promised to set up potato storage facilities across the sub-counties involved in potato farming.
“The Governor and his deputy will soon go round in consultative meetings with farmers to discuss appropriate solutions to problems derailing the sector, ” she said.
The Deputy Governor had promised to support the locals so as to benefit from their farming.
Kinyanjui on his side insists that his government will heed to people’s problems.
“Our administration will revive pyrethrum farming that used to help our people to meet their needs” he said at ASK showground during his inauguration on Monday.
