Youths involved in the ongoing attacks in Nessuit, Ndosua and Sigaon of Njoro and Molo in Nakuru County have been warned.
The stern warning was issued on Thursday by the sub county security and intelligence boss Wambua Muthama even as the death toll rose to 4 while the number of those who have been shot with arrows rose to 12.
One more body was discovered inside a maize plantation at Sigaon village while a male adult was shot with an arrow as Muthama led a peace meeting which was also attended by among others Nakuru deputy governor Dr. Erick Korir, County Mp Liza Chelule and Molo Mp Kuria Kimani.
Muthama said that anyone found with weapons will be arrested and charged in a court of law.
“In this area no one is known to be a hunter or gatherers and therefore the government assumes that any one carrying weapons was out to carry out attacks” he said.
He said that internally security officers were not taking any action against armed youths but from now hence forth they will arrest all those who will be armed.
Security for all according to Muthama was a constitutional right and the government will not relent in providing the same.
Similarly the officer revealed that already some politicians were being investigated over alleged incitement adding that police officers and chiefs who appear to take sides during the operation will have themselves to blame as disciplinary action will be taken against them.
He said that police presence in the area has been intensified and the officers are under strict instructions to deal firmly with attackers and inciters.
