Two Nakuru chiefs have been warned over their habit of drinking alcohol consistently and failing to perform their duties.
The local administrators within Mauche in Njoro sub-county have been warned that they may face unspecified action including termination of their jobs if they fail to reform.
Njoro Deputy county commissioner Paul Githinji Kinyanjui says he will not tolerate such officers who instead of fighting the vice in the society are embracing the same.
The DCC was speaking at Mauche AGC church during a security meeting with the locals.
“I have information of the chief from Chebitet and Mosop that they are engaged in drinking and as such I am warning them that I will not tolerate the kind of display for a public officer who should be fighting the challenge affecting the people” said the DCC.
He further cautioned a section of people who have been extorting money from the unsuspecting people alleging that there is land being sold within the area.
The DCC urged the locals to be vigilant lest they fall to the trap of the cartels.
On his part, area MCA Philip Rotich said that owing to a lot of accusation on the county government over how the licensing of some bars have been done that has bred selling of illegal liquor in bars, they assembly members will attempt to revisit the act and tighten the provisions.
The meeting was also attended by Njoro OCPD Charity Dorcas and other security officers within the sub-county.
