A boost to farmers as County partners with GDC to incorporate geothermal power in farming

Farmers in Nakuru County have a reason to smile after the County’s Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has partnered with the Geothermal Development Company-GDC to fully incorporate geothermal power in farming. GDC plans to drill more wells in the densely populated and farming areas such as Ol Rongai, Kwa Gitau, Rigogo, Boito, Ngata Farm, Menengai Station and Kabarak. All set for the production of Geothermal power in Nakuru

The Menengai Geothermal Project in Nakuru County will produce 105 megawatts of electricity upon completion of the phase one power plant. How one company tried to defraud GDC 220 million

A company that had been awarded a tender to supply and install a water pipeline in Lake Bogoria has been cancelled. The tender worth more than Kshs. 1.1 billion had been awarded to Hydra Industrial Services by the Geothermal Development Company (GDC). However, a CID report indicates that Hydra had used forged documents to secure the tender.
