Iron Fisted WhatsApp admin shortlisted for PSB

Nakuru County Jubilee party secretary general has been shortlisted to join the Nakuru County Public Service Board (PSB).

Peter Kiplang’at Cheruiyot, popularly known as Mtumishi is among 14 others who have been shortlisted to fill two positions.

The abrasive Mtumishi is known on the Nakuru social media circles for his dictatorial management of his WhatsApp page. The jubilee secretary general rules over the page with an iron fist where it is considered a crime to use an emoji.

Mtumishi Peter Kiplang’at Cheruiyot demands that no one posts on the page after he retires to bed and anyone breaking the rule is immediately removed.

“You’re fired!!!” posts Mtumishi before removing the errant member. The phrase “you’re fired” was popularized by the current US President Donald Trump when he used to run a reality TV show.

Away from social media, Mtumishi had vied for the position of Nakuru County Assembly Speaker where he lost. The seat was won by Engineer Maina Kairu by a majority of votes but Mtumishi attained zero votes.

Recently during the East African Legislative Assembly nominations, Mtumishi Peter Kiplang’at Cheruiyot had applied to represent the Jubilee party. Mtumishi who comes from the minority Ogiek subtribe of the Kalenjin again lost.

Not easily to give in, Mtumishi has now been shortlisted for the PSB and only time will tell whether he’ll be lucky this time round.

The two positions knew the Nakuru County PSB fell vacant when two members resigned. The two, Fransiscar Kamuren and Peter Mbae handed over their resignations to get into politics.

Madam Fransiscar Kamuren, a former lecturer at Egerton was vying as an MP for Nakuru Town West constituency. She however lost and the seat went to the incumbent Hon. Samuel Arama. Peter Mbae was elected as MCA for Kabazi Ward in Subukia sub-county.

Ms. Anne Njenga who worked as CEC for Finance and Trade in the previous county government has also been shortlisted.

Others are Maina Muhia who was a political advisor to governor Kinuthia Mbugua, Elizaphan Kimuya, Ezra Ronoh, Magdalene Nyaitui, Wellington Kipngetich, Dr. Peterson Meangi, Eric Kibichum, Joseph Kipngetich, Francis Kipkoech, Michael Gacohi, Pamela Wangui and Rose Wanjugu.

The interviews for the candidates have been scheduled for 17th and 18th January this year.
