Revealed: What led to Nakuru morning accident at Soilo interchange

Four people have died in a road accident near Soilo interchange { Nakuru-Njoro turn off } in Nakuru.

Two people died on the spot while two others died while undergoing treatment at Nakuru level five hospital. 18 more people are being treated at the same facility where two are said to be in critical condition.

Nakuru OCPD Samuel Obara while addressing the media at the scene said that a GK lorry belonging to the Kenya prisons service fmhad it’s brakes fail and as a result hit five other vehicles.

The lorry was transporting maize from Eldoret to Nakuru main prison.

The lorry had two occupants and its suspected the driver lost control of the vehicle due to the heavy load.

The morning accident caused a heavy traffic snarl up especially at Eveready round about.

Members of the public milled around the accident scene to scoop maize that had spilled on the road.

Traffic police officers have been deployed to the scene to manage traffic as efforts are being made to tow the vehicles to Nakuru central police station.

The four bodies have been preserved at Nakuru level five hospital mortuary.
