Traders at Nakuru Wholesale market commonly known as Nakuru Wakulima Market will have a reason to smile this weekend following fundraiser scheduled for Friday that will see them form welfare for economic empowerment.
According to reliable sources, the fundraiser that is being organized by the office of Nakuru County Senator Hon. Susan Kihika in collaboration with Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria will see the traders at the market form welfare.
The traders plan to purchase a bus, tents, and chairs that will be used as an avenue for economic empowerment through hiring.
Already traders at the market have lauded the move by the leaders adding that it will be a boost for them.
The more than 3,000 traders at the market are involved in selling fresh foods and dry cereals among other products.
The Chief Guests at the function will be Senator Kithure Kindiki, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Nakuru Woman Rep Liza Chelule, MPs Benjamin Cheboi (Kuresoi North), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Charity Kathambi (Njoro), Kuria Kimani (Molo), Samuel Tonui (Kuresoi South), Samuel Arama (Nakuru West) and Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) among others.
