Police launch investigation into Bahati robbery case

Police in Nakuru have launched investigation into a case where two suspected robbers were Thursday night lynched by members of the public at Kamiruri village in Bahati Nakuru.

According to Nakuru North OCPD Edward Wafula ,one Ezekiel Macharia Muturi while a sleep with his family was attacked by robbers just past midnight who cut the watchman identified as Samuel Mwangi , 50 and a worker aged 52yrs.

Both were cut on the head and robbed their mobile phones.

Wafula added that Macharia and his wife managed to scale to the ceiling roof and hid while the robbers ransacked the whole house.

During the incident, a wallet containing Shs.20,000, four ATM’s cards,a flat screen TV,one laptop ,one desktop screen, four rechargeable lanterns and a watch all valued at Shs140,000.

“The police on patrol responded after neighbors raised alarm and fired several shots and recovered all the items in a maize plantation except the laptop ,desktop screen and wallet as the robbers fled on foot” he said.

The robbers then proceeded to another home where they stole assorted electronics valued at Shs 120,000 .
They then hijacked three occupant of the house and fled using a probox vehicle towards the nearby Kinoru and Gingalili farm .

Police with the help of members of the public combed Gingalili farm and managed to flush out two suspects who were later accosted by members of the public and lynched.

Wafula said that two people who were cut by the robbers were taken to Nakuru level five hospital for treatment as bodies of the two suspects were moved to Nakuru county government mortuary.
