Nakuru legislators this Sunday in one voice endorsed Deputy President William Ruto as the next president.
The Nakuru legislators were speaking at a church fundraiser at Tabuga PCEA church in Dundori ward, Bahati Constituency.
The tempo for the endorsements was kicked off by the host Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri. Kimani in his opening remarks started by saying how the country had enjoyed peace since Jubilee was formed in 2013. He credited President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto for the peace. He added that we needed to elect Ruto as the next president to continue enjoying th peace.
The MPs present including Women member of Parliament Liza Chelule, National Assembly Deputy speaker Moses Cheboi and Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara also supported the calls to have Ruto as president from 2022.
“We would like to assure the Deputy President that Naivasha which has the highest number of registered voters will vote for him in toto,” said hon. Jayne Kihara. In the last polls, Naivasha had over 45,000 registered voters.
Other Nakuru legislators present were Kuresoi South MP Joseph Tonui, Molo MP Kuria Kimani, Njoro MP Charity Kathambi and Subukia’s Samuel Gachobe.

Hon. Gikaria enumerated the many high profile appointments Nakuru County was enjoying saying the Jubilee government had really rewarded Nakuru.
“Nakuru has really benefitted from the Uhuruto presidency. We have two Permanent Secretaries from Nakuru in the roads and ICT ministries. We have former MP Nelson Gachobe as a CAS and I am the energy chairman,” said Gikaria popularly known as TM.
“Our very own Senator Susan Kihika is the Senate Majority whip and our former Governor Kinuthia is the boss at State House,” added the Nakuru East legislator. He said these and many others were proof that Uhuru and Ruto had Nakuru close at their hearts and the only way to ensure continuity was to elect Ruto as next president.
Senator Kihika also gave the DP the assurance that Nakuru will be fully behind him in 2022.
“Bwana DP in Nakuru you don’t even need to campaign. These votes are already yours and come 2022, they will all end up in your basket,” assured the senator.
Other leaders who spoke were an MP from Kiambu and another from Nyeri. Both assured Ruto that their areas would stand with Ruto.
