Nakuru County Kalenjin professionals fault Senator Ledama’s sentimentsNakuru County Kalenjin professionals have hit out at Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina over remarks he made on 25th September 2018.
The remarks according to the Kalenjin Professional living in Nakuru have the potential to cause animosity between the Maasai and Kipsigis communities in the area.
Addressing media in Nakuru on Thursday led by Peter Koech, the professionals have called on the government to ensure that the law faces up with such leaders.
“We have heard that our leaders were arrested in Njoro for inciting but we have not seen evidence of such yet we have a clip where a leader in Narok has called mothers all sorts of names yet he is still walking free. We call on the Government and interior CS to act” said Mr.Koech.
Similar sentiments echoed by Ms Saida Chesang who said the government should ensure such leaders who make uncalled for sentiments are arrested.
According to Ms Saida the women in Narok County were expressing their worries over the tension in the area and therefore leaders should respect their concerns.
“It is so shameful for a leader to call women in Narok all sorts of names. We demand action” said Ms Saida.
However, speaking in Nakuru on Thursday, NCIC chief executive officer Hassan Mohammed issued the warning in Nakuru on Thursday saying that a cessation notice has already been issued to Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina over remarks he made on 25th September 2018.
