Konza residents in Njoro launch initiative to end illicit brew

Residents of Konza village in Njoro Sub County have started an initiative where the locals will work closely with administrators in ensuring an end to illicit brew business in the area.

According to the locals, the illicit brew business has messed up the lives of many productive youths in the area and led to high crime cases.

Under the initiative, the locals will be able to volunteer information on cases of illicit brew to the administrators for action to be taken.

Speaking during the launch of the initiative in the area, Area Assistastant County Commissioner Lydia Mwata commended the community for such a move.

The ACC said this would help the administrators in the area in bringing an end to the business of illicit brew.

“Illicit brew can be brought to an end in this area if the community comes together the way you have done and say no to the same” said the ACC.

The administrator also challenged Chiefs and their assistants to ensure they play their role in shaping the society in the right direction.
