It is Wetangula for 2022, Ford Kenya party maintains

Ford Kenya party leader Moses Masika Wetangula will be on Balot box as Presidential candidate in 2022 general elections, the party has said after a consultative meeting held in Elementaita,Nakuru on Sunday.

According to the Bungoma Senator who doubles up as the Party leader, the party came up with the resolution during the ongoing strategy meeting at a Nakuru hotel.

He added that they will be conducting elections at the grass root level in a move to revamp the party ahead of the 2022 elections.

According to the Party,already a team that will be led by Hon.Eseli Simiyu is already in place to spearhead the grass root level elections.

“We would like to inform you that the party as deliberated and agreed that I will be the flag bearer come 2022.We will therefore as from January next year hold our party elections at grass root level in a move to revamp the party”said Wetangula.

When asked to comment on the move taken by former Kakamega Senator Dr.Bonny Khalwale to support Deputy President William Ruto, Wetangula was quick to state that the party’s stand is clear and that it will field a Presidential candidate.

On the ongoing maize scandal,Ford Kenya Party is opposing the proposal pay to farmers by the Cabinet secretary adding that that is like peanut to farmers.

The Party while reiterating that they support the President’s Big 4 agenda,says farmers are paramount to the realization of the same and therefore should be paid well.

The Nasa affiliate Party says the least the farmers should be paid per bag is Kshs.3600 so that they can continue to enjoy the fruits of their work hence a healthy nation.

“As a party we support the President’s big 4 agenda and we want to ensure our farmers are paid well not what the CS is proposing”said Wetangula.

The Party stated that it is also in support of meaningful amendments to the constitution that will realize development to the common citizens.
