Farmers from the agri-rich Olenguruone area on Tuesday received thousands of Pyrethrum seedlings from the County government of Nakuru and a partner, KENTEGRA.
Under his Pyrethrum revival strategy, Governor Kinyanjui promised each farmer free seedlings depending on the acreage available.
Speaking during the event, the County Executive in charge of Agriculture Dr Immaculate Njuthe, assured farmers that the program was not just continuous but had also taken care of the entire Pyrethrum value chain.
KENTEGRA Botanicals, an international company interested in Pyrethrum growing and processing also promised that it had within it a solid strategy that would ensure farmers are paid between 15 -30 days after crop delivery.
Pyrethrum is a high value cash crop with minimum cost of production. Farmers can earn between Ksh 200 to 365 per kilogram of dried crop.
