DP warns ‘undemocratic’ politicians

Deputy President William Ruto has once again slammed politicians who continue to peddle lies about the democratic space that accords everyone to vie for positions inthe country.

Ruto says such politicians have to respect the democracy or abstain from politics of 2022 elections.

He spoke on Saturday at Elburgon secondary school in Molo sub-county during the fundraising for the girls dormitory.

The DP said that it is unfortunate that the leaders continue to peddle lies about imminent violence should certain individuals be elected into office.

He reiterated the government’s commitment in ensuring good infrastructure in schools to create a favorable climate for learning and provides safe spaces, especially for girls, to pursue career goals and ensure high transition rates to the next education level.

The DP noting that keeping children in class puts a check on early pregnancy, child marriage, child labor and affords learners to acquire knowledge relevant for the job market.

On harvesting of trees in forest by the timber manufactures, Ruto directed the environment ministry to enter into discussions with all the stakeholders in the sector to find a better way of conducting the business within the law to avoid the cartels who had infiltrated and taken the forests hostage.
