Former Subukia Member of Parliament Koigi wa Wamwere has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to take stiff action against corrupt individuals as head of state.
Addressing media on Saturday afternoon at Kimathi grounds in Flamingo ward, Nakuru East during a Jubilee aspirants rally, Koigi said Kenyans have suffered enough and the time is now for the head of state to take tough action against the culprits.
He also noted that the county Governments are not sacred cows when it comes to corruption cases and therefore they should be investigated too.
“This is the time that the head of state should act and take a tough action against the corrupt. Kenyans have suffered enough and the president should not say that he has no solution to corruption, let him parade the corrupt and have them face the law” he said.
Koigi who has an interest in the Nakuru Senatorial seat also took an issue with the County Government of Nakuru claiming there are no developments due to corrupt individuals.
He called on Nakuru residents to ensure they make a change in the leadership of the county by electing leaders of integrity who can spearhead development agenda.
“We are loosing out in Nakuru because we elected leaders who are corrupt hence no development.A time has come for the Nakuru residents to work out a formula of ensuring the corrupt are sent home in 2017”he said.
Nakuru Aspirants Caucus chair Abdul Noor called on all politicians to ensure peaceful campaign ahead of the 2017 general elections.
He reiterated that as Nakuru aspirants they will work closely with the Susan Kihika led Presidential campaign team to ensure that the Jubilee party emerges victorious in the 2017 general elections.
“We are calling on all politicians to ensure peaceful campaigns ahead of the 2017 general elections. Once again we are in support of Kihika led Presidential campaign team to ensure Jubilee emerges with victory” he said.
The meeting was attended by aspirants eyeing various political seats in Nakuru county who vowed to maintain peace.
