Avoid games on budgetary matters, Mututho tells legislators

Former Naivasha MP John Mututho has called on both Jubilee and Nasa politicians not to play around with matters of budget which are of public interest.

In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, Mututho stated that it was wrong for MPs to peddle around with Budget issues leading to an embarrassment to the Jubilee Government.

He added that Kenyans have no issue with paying taxes, but they need to know how the taxes are being utilized towards development.

“I want to tell Members of Parliament to stop playing with minds of Kenyans. Public have no issue with paying taxes but the taxes must reflect in development. The MPs should stop peddling around with matters of budget” said Mututho.

According to the former legislator, those MPs who are peddling with matters of budget have no reason to be in Parliament.

He adds that if legislators fail to play their mandate as far as legislation, representation and oversight then they have no business in the August House and are a let down to the citizens.

“If you fail in your legislative, representation and oversight role then you have no business in the house” said Mututho.
