Politics took centre stage in Subukia on Friday during the burial of Ibrahim Kinyanjui – a brother to Subukia Mp Kinuthia Gachobe as fourteen politicians allied to the jubilee coalition told off Chief Justice David Maraga over his remarks targeting interior cabinet secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i.
The politicians Gabriel Kago Mukuha –Githunguri Mp , George Sunkuyia-Kajiado West Mp John Kiarie Dagoreti South Mp Kuria Kimani- Molo mp , Moses Kuria- Gatundu south Mp , Kinuthia Gachobe Subukia Mp, Caleb Kositany – Soy Mp , Liza Chelule- Nakuru women rep, Jane Njiru-Embu women rep John Kinyua- Laikipia Senator, Susan Kihika- Nakuru senator, Lee Kinyanjui –Nakuru governor and Mpuri Aburi- EALA MP now calim that the Cs was right in speaking his mind given the haphazard manner in which court orders were being issued to specific civil society activists and Nasa affiliated lawyers.
According to the legislators, there was need for judicial officers to keep in mind the security of the nation while issuing some orders. The leaders said it was unfortunate that some of the security challenges facing the nation at the moment were as a result of loopholes that occurred due to mistakes done by previous holders of the immigration docket.
Legislator Moses Kuria said that it was even more dangerous when such orders are issued ex parte.Senator Kihika and Woman Rep Chelule observed that there ought to be strict adherence to the immigration laws which NASA proclaimed General Miguna Miguna was no exception to.
The two said that world over; there is no place where one can gain entry into a foreign country using a national identification card.
On the recent collaboration between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga, the politicians welcomed the move but however warned that it was too early to believe Raila given his past political record of party hopping despite forming formidable mergers.
They however said that the writing was on the wall that Deputy President William Ruto will be Jubilee’s presidential flag bearer in 2022.
Nakuru leaders present told off those claiming that Ruto will not get votes from the Mount Kenya region adding that people from the region have a debt to pay to the Deputy President.
The late Kinyanjui who was a renowned businessman in Nakuru town died of cancer and is survived by wife Faith Wambui and three children.
